Since 1972 when established as Korea’s first tax-related MBA, the Tax Management Department has been committed to producing taxation experts, who rationally interpret rapidly changing tax systems and administration and perform accordingly, and tax/accounting experts who design and execute effective tax plans in corporate management. The faculty consists of full-time GSBA professors, former senior officers from the National Tax System, and adjunct professors considered the top in their specialties.

As the oldest major in GSBA, Tax Management has students and alumni with a wide range of professions related to tax and taxation such as accountants, tax accountants, tax officials, lawyers dealing with tax litigation, and corporate accounting/tax officers. Our students can take part in seminars where professors and graduates attend together to discuss tax issues and learn real-life cases by joining conferences and small group activities.

Our graduates proceed to doctoral programs or work as tax/accounting specialists. For example, we have witnessed graduates move from a small office to a big company/public agency, receive a promotion, attract more customers for their counting house, expand their business, or engage in education/research after finishing a doctoral program. Our alumni association works to promote solidarity, while the Korean Academic Society of Taxation and many others provide students and graduates with opportunities to gather together and know each other.
